The Stress Check-Up will take a break for the holidays and be back on Monday, January 4. However, I wanted to let my readers know about two opportunities to learn more about stress illness.
First, if you are in the Spokane, WA area, I will be presenting the Robert Stier Memorial Lecture which is free and open to the public. This will take place on Friday, February 26, 2010, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Academic Center Auditorium on the Riverpoint Campus. Those planning to attend should RSVP by February 22 to 509-358-7640 or ahec@wsu.edu. Event parking will be available in Green Lot 1 (next to the Academic Center) only between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m.
Next is a conference titled When Stress Causes Pain. The information to be presented is intended primarily for mental health professionals but the public are welcome to attend and there will be much that is useful and comprehensible to all. This will be held at UCLA in Westwood, CA on March 27-28, 2010. Details about registration fees and the exact time and location will be listed in a future post.
My best wishes for the holiday season and for a new decade that will be kinder than the one we are finishing.
